Steve and Kathi Amar are missionaries in the Washington D.C. area through Christar.  The Amars vision is to reach out to the large Iranian population living in the Washington D.C. vicinity.  Since Iran is closed to missionaries, the Amars hope to train up some Iranian Christians who will take their faith back into Iran.  The Amars have spent a considerable amount of time learning Iranian culture and the Farsi language.  Steve and Kathi have a 3 year-old daughter named Katie.
